Yggdrasil Public Peers

This site tracks the reachability of public peers for the Yggdrasil network, an encrypted IPv6 overlay network. Peers are fetched from the public-peers repository and checked every few minutes.

Online means at least one eligible probe received a valid Yggdrasil handshake from the peer. Offline means all eligible probes reported failure. Unknown means evidence is missing, incomplete, or expired; it is not a failure.

Tips for choosing peers

Yggdrasil has no concept of "bootstrap nodes". Peer connections are virtual wires used for traffic routing and will remain active once brought up. For the benefit of the wider network:

• Select a small number of nearby peers with good uptime, preferably inside your own country or neighbouring countries only.
• Avoid selecting peers that are high latency, i.e. because they are geographically far away from your node.
• Do not add large numbers of peers from the list.
• There is no benefit from adding the same peer multiple times using different protocols.
